Hello,

I am new to the forum but have read a few threads for a number of weeks.

I am looking at moving over to Sydney as I have family there. My question is to people who work in construction in Australia...

As you probably know, construction has been one of the hardest hit industries by the recession. I know that Quantity Surveyors are on the list of professionals that are in demand in Australia, but then that used to be the case in the UK, Europe, ME etc.

Is this still the case or are QS jobs in Australia as hard hit as other areas of the world?

I have about 4 years experience on main contracting side, is this amount of experience sufficient to stand a chance of gaining work?

Any other advise would be appreicated.
