QLD Stamp Duty
Stamp Duty on Residential property in QLD
From 1 August 2004, NO stamp duty will be payable on the first $300,000 of the purchase price of Residential Property for use as own residence.
This is an increase from the existing $250,000 figure.
From 1 August 2004, credit card duty (imposed on credit card transactions at the rate of 10 cents per transaction) will be abolished
Debits tax will be abolished from 1 July 2005.
Per capita State tax collections in Queensland in 2004-05 are expected to be $1,614, compared to an average of $2,056 for the other states and territories
