QLD Rainfall figures 7th Nov 2004
It was a bit wet on the Gold Coast yesterday
The following Rainfall information from different parts of QLD is quoted from:
http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/dwo/IDCJDW0401.shtml
Quoted rainfall in mm on November 7th 2004 (Just the ONE day)
207.4 - Coolangatta, Gold Coast, Queensland
149.8 - Gold Coast Seaway, at the northern end of Southport Spit.
80.4 - Amberley, Ipswich, Queensland
49.6 - Logan City, Queensland
6.8 - Toowoomba, Queensland
3.8 - Brisbane Airport, Queensland
3.6 - Brisbane City, Queensland
2.6 - Redcliffe, Queensland Can anyone in Redliffe confirm that ?
1.0 - Bundaberg, Queensland
0.8 - Maroochydore, Queensland
0.2 - Hervey Bay, Queensland
To compare that to the average in Cambridge for example:
http://www.viridis.net/cubg/rain.html
The TOTAL for 2003 was 463.1mm
Although I think London gets about 800mm per year

According to the ABC, Pimpama, just north of Dreamworld copped 365mm in 48 hours.
On another note, The Gold Coast Mail had this to say on Saturday
Last week the Hinze Dam’s capacity stood at 63.66 per cent, much higher than 45.19 per cent recorded at the same time last year.
Weather forecasts along the Gold Coast from now until next month indicate there is a 60 to 70 per cent chance of above average temperatures and less than a 50 per cent chance of receiving average rainfall.
Oh what a difference a day makes!

Yesterdays drive was my worst "driving visibility" experience since 1977 in England.
The rain was so heavy that quiet a number of cars were pulling over to the side to stop. I must have only been driving at about 10kph at one stage, and thinking "if this gets any worse, i'm pulling over".
The Redlands main dam had its water level rise from 73% to 89% capacity, just over the weekend
