Putting in an offer on a Brisbane house. ??
I'm going to put in a offer on a house I really like. Does anyone have any experience as to how close to the asking price I should go ??? There is one other person who already has an offer lodged. Asking price $530 k
Does anyone ever match the asking price ? Do people offer above asking price ?
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Good question
i know all houses vary but we were wondering the same.
People very rarely (in our experience) offer full asking price in the UK.
so what's the general deal in qld?

From what I have seen it depends on how long its been on and how serious other buyers are. I have seen places advertised at $550k sell for $500k. I looked at a place for $690k and the agent told me to offer $590K..!!!
Go low and go upwards if you need to and if you miss out then it wasnt meant to be. Despite what real estate agents tell you there are plenty of places around if you look. I read that only 20% of people in Brisbane can even afford to buy here now as prices are so high so I cant see the competition being too bad.
Make sure you get legal advice and keep a way out for the first few days so you dont get caught out.
