Default Purely to cause arguments, fistfights and death threats.

Right, all everyone here wants to do is argue. Great.

So lets ask the natives, (those that actually live here) a few leading questions.

1..How many hours a week do you actually spend on the beach?

2. On what do you spend the most time, Sunbaking or applying sunblock.

3. Do you work less hours than in the UK.

4. Do you earn less than in the UK.

5. Do you spend less, same or more on Food, transport, essentials.

6. Do you spend more time mowing, cleaning, raking the pool now.

7. Is chatting to granny on the internet the same as giving the old duck a hug.

8. When will your next overseas trip be?

9. Does the weather ever pee you off in OZ.

10. Do you believe robbery, rape, murder or drugs exist in OZ.

That should provide enough punchups for a week or so.

Oh and just for good measure do you now live closer to ASIA or America or Europe.

OK - here goes - truthfully -

1. Usually went once a fortnight but now too cold, wet and windy.
2. The latter - and don`t forget the hats, the swimming shirts etc.
Especially for the children.
3. Yes, but not through choice, the pay`s about half, and the
conditions of employment are "casual".
4. See 3. above.
5. Generally spend a little less, food is about the same, diesel is
a lot cheaper - although I travel further - and essentials are
a bit cheaper.
6. Yes - didn`t have much of a garden in the UK though - that
was one of the attractions of moving here! Also didn`t have
a pool in the UK (naturally!)
7. Don`t webcam or anything so technical - manage to spend at
least 1.5 hours on phone a week thanks to Go Talk cheap
phone card, but hell, it`s no where close to being there.
8. When we`ve sold up and gone back home I expect!
9. No - I knew it would be hot and humid, but I like it that way!
IF we return to England, I will definitely miss the Australian
weather.
10. Yes - but not where we live (!) - I do feel safer here than
in certain parts of the UK as far as street crime, vandalism
and armed robbery are concerned, but the minute I get
behind the wheel of my car, I sh** myself - they`re crazy
drivers here!
The geography thing is interesting - my surroundings suggest I`m in the States, the ethicity of the area suggests I am bordering Asia, and the weather today convinces me I`m in England!!!

3 - About the same 60-80 hours a week
4 - About 2/3 of my UK Salary
5 - about the same, but we have one less car here
6 - Hubby does all that, UK and here would not say more and yet to get a pool
7 - In person - but the novelty soon wears off again
8 - Just back from a month in the UK and two weks just a few months before that. Planning on an Aus holiday next as we haven't seen anything really, then Fiji or Bali next year. UK possibly in two, Daughter going to family in Canada this Year son wants to visit UK for Christmas hols this year.
9 - The rain these past few days gets a bit much! The sun hardly ever worries me, the bloody cold is the worst though, at night our rented five bed shed is as cold as a witches tit and I own my first pair of flannel pjs since I was a kid - most aussies I know have electric blankets and hotties - I never had one in the UK!!!
10 - exsist all over the world
11 - Mentality in Country can be closer to UK and America, physicaly we are a very long expensive flight from popping back to UK and family events!

>>Right, all everyone here wants to do is argue. Great.

Lets get started...

1. 4 hours (averages out about 1/2 day each weekend)
2. Never sunbake - much too boring in any country go to the beach to play with kids or swim. Sunblock application (20 mins) - playing with kids (3 1/2 hours) per week.
3. No 2.5 hours a week more
4. Yes - about 2/3
5. Hard to compare - more of food, but have 2 children now didn't have in the UK. Transport less as I travel by public transport to work. Essentials - about the same but different ratio (higher telephone costs - ringing UK, etc, lower elec. bills).
6. Don't have a pool - too much trouble. About the same time mowing, cleaning.
7. Both (sets of grandparents) have passed away. If you're talking about my kids chatting to their granny (ie my parents/parents-in-law) then no it's not as good.
8. Good question - probably 2050.
9. Yes - in total about 3 weeks a year as opposed to 33 weeks a year in UK.
10. Believe and know they exist in OZ.

>>That should provide enough punchups for a week or so.

See you in the boxing ring.

>>Oh and just for good measure do you now live closer to ASIA or America or Europe.

Yes OZ is closer to Asia - but is still a separate continent.

Number s
1) recently- I'd say about 12 hours on the weekends (I beach fish a lot - too windy at the moment for boating on the bay - it was 30 knots on Sunday)
2) neither - I mostly go to the beach either very early morning , or night - I never sunbake, only on the boat in the day - ow hot out there in the summer days!
3) no
4) no , but I can't compare it - not unless we open up a branch in Wales.
5) swings and roundabouts hard to say really, probably about the same we spend on food - going on what my mum says her bill is in UK , and mine here - very similar
6) more!! - bl**ding grass!!! I haven't got a pool in this house, I was going to build one in my new house (maybe, maybe not now)
7) of course not - but I'd rather hug a duck than granny - just joking
8) actually I'm thinking very soon, next two months maybe (granny duck is ill , she's due to fly her roost to the great pond up there - not kidding really, she's old and ill) - I'm seriously tempted to take a holiday now back to the UK.
9) no, not really, must admit I miss the winters/ seasons though - and Christmas in winter.
10) don't ask stupid questions - of course they don't exist here!

2. sunblock

3. More hours (own business) -

4. Dont know gave up counting me money years ago.

5. More on fuel, same on food more on health, less on entertainment as there isn't any.

6. What the hell are husbands for.

7. Sadly most of my older relatives died while I was here.

8. One Way I hope.

9. Only in summer.

10. Been robbed, still not raped or murdered tho.
