Are the pubs and clubs open on Christmas Day?

I've tried the Southport RSL and Workers clubs and neither are open on Christmas Day. Is this the norm or do some pubs and clubs open?

Ta,

Paul.

Hi Paul, all states have different laws. In WA we dont have Workers Clubs like the Eastern States and (I stand to be corrected if wrong) I think alcohol
can only be served with meals on Christmas Day. Most pubs shut. Think even the casino is shut till Christmas night.
Cheers
Pauline

I live in Melbourne and my local here has the same deal going as my local pub in Englane - open from about 11.30am - 2.00pm and the landlord shouts all the drinks.

RSLs are usually open for the old folks who may be alone at Christmas to provide them with a bit of cheer on Christmas Day.
