Public Transport in Bayside Brisbane

I intend staying in Wynnum in a short term rental on arrival.I intend sending my children to schools in Cleveland/Victoria Point(if we like it) I would like them to start school as soon as possible beginning of second term. Is it possible and easy enough to get to this area by bus as my wife will not have access to car when I am in work?

There are trains between Wynnum & Cleveland. Vicky Point would require a bus though.

Try the journey planner on the Translink site if you have the address of schools you are thinking of to see how the journey is:

http://www.translink.com.au/

You could be looking at 1 hour plus on public transport from Wynnum to Vic Point.

The easiest way is to take the train from Wynnum to Cleveland if your rental is near one of the train stations in Wynnum. Have a look at

P.S. bcworld beat me to it... :)

I don't think walking is that bad. On the map it shows the walking distance as 1.2 from the train station to the high school.

From the train station to the primary school it's 0.9km.

Not quite in the same direction though. So not sure if the older one would have to walk the younger one.

Cleveland high is an easy walk from the station. Cleveland State is further away but bstill walkable. From the station up past the library, left along Middle St past the shops, right at Crazy Clarks (1 block), left at the roundabout (1 block). 10-15 mins max by foot.

School Bus services in the Brisbane Bayside

The local Bus Service operates about 40 dedicated school bus services each school day in the area.

Cheers ABC but I found that link yesterday and I am not sure if you are able to catch school bus from Wynnum to Cleveland.

It's a pretty short walk through from the station - maybe 15 mins max - quicker to the high school.

Vicky Point is more of a trek and would probably mean a train and a bus journey or a couple of buses, but it's doable.

Hope that helps

Love
