I don't see how there can be a glut. Most people sell to move and are buying another house somewhere in the UK, unless there are now so many people leaving Blairs brave new world that there really is a glut. In which case, let in more asylum seekers I say.

From article

According to the firm, there were 110,000 new sellers last month, adding 6% to the stock levels currently carried by estate agents.

It said the number of properties coming on the market was almost twice the number being sold or withdrawn.

Last week the Council For Mortgage Lenders said total gross lending in February remained flat at £17.2bn, virtually unchanged from January's £17.3bn and 18% lower than the £21.1bn of last February.

i don't think that's necessarily true anymore, as many people went for buy-to-let and have more than one house.

i know nothing about the uk market, just thought since many people hear are trying to sell a house it may be an interesting read!

Hope you get the follow through. I haven't had a decent offer yet.

I've had to come to terms with reality and accept an offer much lower than we first thought we would accept.

We should be onto a winner then if others are pricing up as we have reduced ours and offered to pay 5% deposit. 132k for 1930's detached, bow bay house. Come on someone must want it, lol.
