Default Proof of intended marriage

I am planning to send form 47SK to DIMA in 6/8 weeks after having ACS Sk.Assessment.
I am in a de-facto relationship with my girlfriend since 99 and we have booked a date for marriage ( Feb/03 )

Would it be enough to send a letter from the Registrar stating the date of intended marriage ? Just to avoid the proof of de-facto relationship

Thank you all
Carlos

No.

You are claiming defacto, therefore you need to provide the evidence of it.
A marriage date (proposed) does not provide evidence of a defacto
relationship.

Because there is. They are just simply asking. You may be engaged to be
married or something like that. Providing a date of intended marriage does
not prove a defacto relationship. Do not read to much into the presence of
some questions.

So, what do you recommend me to do ?
Should I send my 47SK with proofs of de facto rel. right now ?
And then, (Feb/03), to send the Registrar certificate of marriage ?
Or would it be better to wait until marriage to send the 47SK as a legal couple ?

Thank you
Carlos

Of course, it would be easier to wait as less paper work is involved,
however, To move further along the process, if all your paper work is ready
now, I would lodge now and then advise DIMA when you are married.

Ok, thanks a lot
I will try the de facto way right now

I have this papers:
LIFE INSURANCE POLICY beneficiating my girlfriend
PIECE OF LAND CERTIFICATE showing shared property
SOCIAL SECURITY from my employer covering her. (Argentine law requires two years of de facto rel. to access social security)

Would it be enough for DIMA ?

Should be ok. As well, let them know separately about your marriage plans.

Just another question
Should I tick both boxes : ENGAGED and DE FACTO on 47SK ??
And then send proof of de facto rel. and a separated note of marriage plans ?

Thanks

Hi

When I was filling in my visa application for a long term business visa I went to immigration here in Sydney and asked them what was the difference..

I was told that in a defacto relationship you have to have been together for at least 12 months.

Engaged is that you don't have to have been livining together for 12 months but you MUST show that are getting married and are currently planning it and have a date set. i.e dockets from venues, church,.... and a whole load more information.

You should tick the defacto, in my view and assuming you can prove 12 months of living together and commitment. I suspect that the information you need to prove both cases would equal the same amount of effort.

You could include a covering letter with your application stating that you plan to get married, blah blah blah...

Remember when they pre approve your visa they ask you if anything has changed. At this point you could say you got married if you want.

I'm currently getting PR and have put my partner on my application as defacto, with out any worries.
