Hi Susmac,
Thanks for your reply. I also wonder if my application is a little slower because I had to gain 5 extra points from my hubbies skill in order to reach the pass mark. Meaning that they have 2 lots of skills assessments etc to go through...??...just a thought..

Why are people so obsessed with front-end loading medicals?
You'll only have yourself (or your agent) to blame if you find
yourself having to do them again.
What's the problem with waiting until you are asked for them?

Now what a co-incidence. My daughter is also a Emma and she is 3
years. Got a son Sheldon 6 years. We are from South Africa and heading
either to Brisbane(1st choice)or Melbourne.

I think you'll find that a lot of people front loaded their
applications under the assumption that they were going to be priority
processed. I myself had my medicals done although I didn't include
them with my application (I was trying to get my application in before
the increase of the fee as of July 1st...got my medicals back the day
after I had sent my application and so I'm sitting on them until they
are requested, fully aware that I might have to take them again)

Hi Jeremy,
I have answered this to you before and it's simply "saving time". If
you don't front load and are asked for medicals it could take a week
for the letter requesting the medicals to come to this side of the
globe. Then you have to book appointments, do the medical ,get results
and send back to OZ. Could add a month to a month and a half on the
processing times.
If as you said the medicals time run out. Then you have todo them
again. A gamble but worth it, if it pays off and saves you time. If it
does take longer
than a year and they expire, then after waiting that long, redoing
medicals
will be the least of your worries..
All the best,
Paul

Hi Paul
As long as people understand the deal involves possibly having to do
them again, that's fine.
I don't think anyone lodging an offshore skilled application to
Adelaide now would be advised to front-end load medicals, however.
Except maybe for nurses![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Jeremy,
What about STNI people?
We front loaded our medicals/X-Rays towards the end of Sept as we were accepted for STNI mid August.
Should we have held on?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanx,
Shelly

If you've already got an STNI nomination (rather than just hoping for
one) that might be reasonable, but there are no guarantees.

well, The Adelaide personnel wanted to have the X-Rays with a
different view.
This is what drives you sick, you cannot check your status and they
don't even let you know periodically about what's happening from their
side. US processes around 800, 000 immigrant visas alone but they do
have an effecient means of letting you know the status via the
recorded messages. I paid AUD 1150 aroung 9 months ago and I feel it
as my right to know the status at the least, whether it is +ve or -ve
doesn't bother me much.
IS THERE ANYBODY WILLING TO SHARE THEIR SIDE OF THE STORY
