Hi Alex,
you'll get some info about timelines for any kind of visa on http://www.austimeline.com. You can select skilled - independent in your cross-search.

My application for a skilled independent visa arrived in adelaide in Feb 2002. I was asked to send some additional info in June and since then, I'm just waiting...

Good luck

Hi

Well our application has been there since March 2002. No news for us.
If I check timeline ,not much movement happening. Only responses that
I see are the IT guys who were fast tracked early in the year
. Nurses seem to be moving now but the general skilled apps seem to be
at a stand still. Anyone else interpret the same info I do??
Someonementioned processing of May 2002 but I dont think so. A friend
applied in JAn (same category) and they too have had no word.

So if anyone has real facts to give us ,please share

Thanks
Jenny

Everything we've been reading is saying 50 weeks from Adelaide. We applied in February and last month received a request for more information. Hopefully we should now hear about the medicals before Christmas. Fingers crossed!

snap - March 7th this year, not a sausage has been heard. quite glad in a way, means either a) they havent looked at it yet (so there is still a chance !!) or b) they dont need any extra info, cos the truck-load i sent to start with has created the old Bullshit Baffles Brains aura amongst them !!

ahhh well.....another day another 34pence....

Hi all

Well looks like we may be in for a long wait if the London apps are
gonna be processed before ours.
Just hope they come up with a good plan to have us all processed in
the shortest possible time.
I like you others am so anxious to get our life started in OZ.
Prayers will have to be the answer now......I wanna be there in March
2003.

Why did you do your medicals twice? That's quite unusual.

Hi,

Im a nurse and supposedly being fast tracked. I applied 20th July and other than acknowledgement have heard nothing. It states that fast tracked means between 3-4 months..and its now almost 3..and nothing...

I know some of you may be thinking...well we've been waiting 'x' months so what are you whining about....I really am not moaning.....honest!!

For me its not a particular problem as I cant go till next year due to study committments.

Looking on timeline though, some nurses' applications certainly seem to be being processed very quickly. One individual applied late August and received acknowledgment within 2-3 weeks and was requested for medicals at the same time. I wonder what the difference between mine and this individuals application is?????
On a positive note. I applied for police clearance checks and they came back with the all clear (as if I thought they wouldnt) in 30 days.....so maybe things are improving on that side!

Hi
I have noticed that your application wasn't moving,I sent mine on 5 july and got asked for medicals on 5 of August. I noticed that my case officer is for world group 2 whether that means anything I don't know. Isuppose there are less nurse applicants from the middle east,

are you going through agents? Where are you from?

Hello Jenny,

We applied end February. We aren't using agents - hope this isn't going to slow us down too much.

Live in Bournemouth - me, my husband Kevin and daughter Emma 2 1/2 want to go asap to start new life. We're looking to settle in Brisbane - how about you?

Sorry should have said that we have heard from Adelaide 4 weeks ago with a request for Kevin's original skills assessment. I thought it was certified copies of everything but not apparently the skills assessment - all very unclear but I suppose if you use an agent you get told all that?

Were you advised to send in your medicals now by your agent? We've haven't done ours yet but could. Any thoughts on this greatly appreciated.
