It was great! We took a walk back through village, picked the kids up from school and now we're having a chilled out evening before work tomorrow! Decisions, decisions X
Hi GB,
Yes we're definately heading back, not sure where yet, we're planning about next July so have a while here yet. Its not been an easy decision but family and friends (and of course shops) have won in the end (also jobs, healthcare and education, I must be feeling very brave to say those things here, lol)
We've had a great time, glad we came but thats enough now!

lol just wait for backlash!!!!!! If you want a nice area to come back too, try Suffolk. Lots of cosy little villages, good schools. Just read Donna (Madsad's) thread about the cost of her daughters dental care! Shocking! Thats enough to put you off completely. Mind you, if you emigrate your made aware of the cost of living, the DIMIA website states that compared to other countries, Australia has a high cost of living. Anyway, you're going to love shopping here when you get back! So many clothes, so much fashion, all those smellies in Boots and M&S! Aahhhhh, and after shopping stacks yesterday I've run out of money for the week, but it was well worth it! Take care love annie

Be aware though that the DIMIA website is aimed at ALL migrants, including many from Asia etc.

Another quote about Australia says: "The cost of living and education fees are low compared to other English speaking countries, including the US and the UK"

Obviously some things here are more expensive when compared to the UK, the main one, in my mind, being Childrens Health. But the government could easily fix that, by increasing GST from 10% to 15% and allocating all the extra funds to give a Free childrens health service just like, or even better than, the UK
