Hi Everyone,
Looking at getting some Private healthcare ...looked through a few and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good plan with good major dental ? Husband will need some work doing in the coming years and we want to escape lifetime loading also so want to get something in place now .

Have a look at the Medibank Extras package. I've had quite a bit of dental work done here and saved a packet. It's not always free but it's much less than I was paying in the UK 6 years ago.

I have the same package and it costs us a lot more than we were paying in the UK.

We couldn't get an NHS dentist in the UK.

Prices vary greatly here. Look around.

We didn't have an NHS dentist.....we had Denplan which was vastly cheaper than most insurance here and which used to cost us nothing extra apart from paying around £185 for a crown.

I have HCF multi cover - the top one with the additional extras. Not sure on dental but on most other things physio/speech therapy etc it was quite a lot higher than the others. Not cheap though.

Me too.. costing me about $5k a year. Not convinced its worth it to be honest... and dental isn't up to much.

I had dental work done last year - total cost $900, I only paid $400 - the rest covered by my healthfund www.cdhbf.com.au

Can't recommend one. Overseas dental trips seem to be the way to go these days.

Last private crown in UK about 8 years ago £300.

Crown here, last year $1000.

Medibank pays $400-$800 of this depending on how long you have been a member ($400 first year, $500 second etc)

Dentists in Brisbane CBD can charge 3 times what we pay in the sticks.
