Default Private Health Care Costs

Just been reading a few posts relating to Private HealthCare and Medicare, and just wondered how much Private HealthCare could actually cost per month?

Hi
How long is a piece of string?
It will depend on a number of factors.Your age, whether you have an existing condition, do you want hospital or out patient cover ot both? Ambulance cover?
It seems to be a 'pick and mix' system .
Looking at Hev's earlier post you also need to be aware of what cover you actually have!!
Best decide what cover you want and get a few quotes.
The cost for one person may be very different to the cost for another. It is a market you are talking about and treatment is a commodity:scared:
Good luck

It depends on what type of visa you have too. If you are on a Temp visa the cost is astronomical, most companies won't insure you. A friend on one of these 4 year business visas gave up looking because it was so expensive.

I'm on a PR and I pay $190 a month for a very high level of hospital and extras cover with Medibank Private. This is for 5 of us.

It's been worth it as we've claimed quite a bit for dentists, glasses and occupational therapy.

We've not had to claim on the hospital cover, just the extras, thankfully.

That cost will come down if they ever get around to waiving the lifetime health cover loading for new immigrants.

We are paying about $190ish as well. That is for 3 of us. Hospital Plus cover, whatever that is. I think it covers maternity cover as well, assuming the boys are ever given the chance to show their stuff again.

Try www.australianunity.com.au
www.manchesterunity.com.au

You can pay from $110 a month for just hospital cover to around $200 pm for extras so you can claim back an amount of your dental, chiropractic costs etc.

We are about to pay $178 pm for 5 of us, this includes a 16% loading for our ages. The only useful thing about it is we can claim a lot of the costs back for our Dental treatment, glasses etc.
