Re: Private Girls High Schools in Perth
I've got boys, so didn't have to look into girls' schools, but my friend with a daughter did and her preference is St Hilda's. Her daughter is still in primary at a state school, but her friend's daughter is at St Hilda's and they are very happy with the school. PLC also has good reports, a few parents from our primary sent their daughters there and one mum I know is a teacher there. We have also heard that there are a few farming families who send their daughters there (ie, not rich urban-dwellers and down-to-earth), so there is a good demographic mix. MLC is used the most by girls from our school from Year 7-8, perhaps because it is closer to home than the other two. However, knowing some mums and girls from our school who go to MLC, I would probably want to avoid it if I had a daughter.
There is a website with some rankings (have a look around and try various links for how the data is displayed) http://bettereducation.com.au/Results/WA/all.aspx. St Mary's is in Karrinyup and also has a good reputation - also a beachside location a few suburbs north of where you might be looking, but not so far from City Beach and other good suburbs.

Just remembered that my friend's two nieces are at PLC and their father is working there, all very happy with the school.

My pal sent his daughter to St Mary's - want to know why their TEE results are so good? Because if your daughter looks like she might not do well in TEE she will not be allowed to take it as it will **** up the School's scores.
