I think there were 25 when my daughter went to Currambine Primary and that school is full - it was listed as one of the top 5 in Perth for temporary buildings. I think there are a few less at Carramar since a lot of the kids went to the new Tapping Primary this year.

Is that the norm then? Quite a lot isn't it? Forgive my ignorance though as I don't know much about class sizes here in Oz.

My eldest goes to Kindy next year and I think there are 18 in that class (if he gets in).

Is there any difference between private and public class sizes?

Don't know. 20 is the max kindy class size in our school and the same for pre primary. It is lower than the 33 we had in our primary classes in England so I am quite happy with that to be honest.

There are 40+ (yes..40+) in my daughters pre-primary class  It is two classes mixed together with two teachers though.

Hellooooo there,
All fine thanks!
Enjoyed the pregnancy and maternity experience in Oz so much we decided it was time for another one! Hence, us 2 and 3 boys :D
Got invited to a presentation at LJBC for Kindy and pre-primary. Fingers crossed eldest will get in, he's been on their list since we arrived. I also sorted out the dinosaur/creationism debate whilst there. Risked looking like a numpty but all was well in the end - they do a whole term on the ice age, dinosaurs etc. I was able to put Renth's mind at rest on that one at long last :p
Was really very impressed with it.
How are you guys?

that is really encouraging news about LJBC Steph as my daughter is down for year 8 and after Renths comments I was getting a bit concerned.

Actually I thought they were wonderful. I spoke to the Head of Primary (I think he was anyway - nice jumper ;)) and he said that although the teachers were Christians that was as far as it went. The children could have as little or as much involvement as they wanted. As the product of an Atheist and weekly churchgoer (still married ) I was comforted by that. My private school in the UK was chapel 4 times per week. A bit much. I'm also avoiding St. Marks in spite of their reputation as I think they're hypocrites - you can't come here unless you get a form signed by your Vicar/Rabbi/Priest/Shayman. Pees me off and I told them so. Never got a reply. You wait until I'm published in the West Australian.
I know of many people who just get the form signed/forged in order to get their kids in. Well, it'll be hell and damnation for them in my fluffy karma world.
Right, that's me done for now.
