Default Price of Contact Lenses in Oz

Is it cheaper to buy daily disposable contact lenses in Oz or UK? I usually buy six months at a time - Johnsons & Johnsons Acuvue daily disposable - and then go back to the optician for a free checkup and to order my next lot. They work out roughly £1 per day (just slightly over).

Does anyone know if these are more expensive in Oz and whether you need to pay for the six monthly check up or whether this is free?

Hope someone can help - Regards from Netta

30 daily disposables are $95 (both eyes).

3 months worth is $220 (both eyes).

Checkups every 12 months are free under medicare (as long as it is bulkbilled, most opticians do).
