Default Premium bonds?

Been thinking recently about investing some of the equity from our house (if it sells!) in premium bonds.

Just wondering if anyone has done the same or if anyone has any advice regarding them?

Thanks in advance!

You can buy them, you can even buy them from Australia, but ..... once resident in Australia, any winnings are taxable !!

Are you just feeling jealous of that woman who won a million last week. Only bought the bond in June. Lucky cow (said through gritted teeth as someone who has only ever won £50)

We did that when we sold our house. We invested the maximum 30,000 each (me and hubby) and kept them for a year whilst we were waiting for our visa - ie we were in the UK all through that time. The most we won was 450 in one month. Overall, it worked out the same as if we'd put it in a high interest account. Go for it - at least its a better chance than winning the lottery.
