God I hope so...Im getting quite concerned...weve lost nearly $50,000 on the exchange rate,since we first sat down and worked out how much we would have,that was a few months ago now mind,but its still depressing

Yep same boat here over $132000 gone already and dropping fast! Thats since we put in our tra 2.5 to 3 years ago

Just hope that the bid win will help the poor old pound a bit

Just been reading the threads regarding the rate issues and just wondering if this would stop any of you actually going to Australia full stop?

People have gone with a lot less and really made it work, do you feel this is how you would go?

Nope its not gonna stop us we have waited soooooo long. Money is not everything, but it does help . It was just a small part of the dream at the begining of this eventfull passage we are going through. We would go with nothing, and may effectively do that anyways by investing here or offshore Its just a change of plan (again)
It means as Fraser said in another post just have to go to work sooner rather than later. It also means no stop over we did think about the USA route originaly, but hey its such a lovely country and the Gold coast has most of it if thats what floats ya boat.

Great to hear your postive approach, like you say it is beyond money, though it helps enormously to get you going, it is all about building your new life.

It wont stop us moving in September but already we have been talking about the financial arrangements and deferring money transfers in bulk until we actually need all the money. May buy us a few more weeks/months to see what is happening with the rate.
