Re: Pre-booking flight seats

Makes me cringe just thinking about it reading this thread.

I'm 6ft 7" and always have problems with airlines trying to pre-book seats. I don't think its the airlines but more the person who you speak to on the day.
I've had good and bad experiences with British Airways, one week you can pre-book seats then the next time you fly you can't.

Last time I flew to Oz was with JAL. You couldn't pre book the seats but if you got there early to check in they made sure I got bulk head seats and pre booked them for all legs of the journey including my return. JAL seats are a bit on the narrow side though.

Thai Airlines go out of there way to help you. The best flight I had was Continental from LA to Sydney. After we stopped off in Hawaii all the US tourists got off and only a few people got on, about 100 on a 747. Had the full 5 seats in the middle to myself for 10 hours....bliss :)

I know we all try to get the seats with most leg room but it annoys me when I can't get bulk head seats and have to suffer with no leg room and then see someone who could quite easily have sat in the regular seats.

I think all airlines should have a variety of different seat pitches on flights as we're all a variety of diifernet sizes and shapes. I suppose we already have that system if you can afford it..!!

I agree with you when you say it depends who you get to speak to on the phone. One person said no it was not allowed and yet another person pre-booked the seats for us :D

I am not sure if this site has been posted on here, but I have always found it useful when speaking to airlines about prebooking seats. For many major airlines they tell you the best seats in the plane..If you know what type of plane you will be flying on then you can look it up here, and then ask for specific seats...

Good luck to all
