Default Pre arrange 6 month rental?

Hello All,
Has anybody gone over to Australia, particularly Greater Brisbane area straight into a 6 month rental, arranged from the UK? How did it work with bond and references etc. Hubby and I would like to do this as we have a dog and don't want him to be in kennels any longer than necessary whilst we find a rental. Not too fussed about the area as long as it is fairly central for job and house (to buy) hunting as no kids, so we are prepared to take a chance for 6 months. Any recommendations on any agents that would be able to help us with this?
Thank You in advance for any information / advice.
Regards,
Kelly

Try emailing some of the real estates in the area of your choice and see what options they give you, however do you really want to stay somewhere for at least 6 months, that you havent even viewed.
I would book somewhere fully furnished for a couple of weeks, then use that time to find a suitable unfurnished place.
Take into account many landlords wont allow dogs.
Always offer a few months rent in advance, helps you secure a place.

good luck
