Correct W any added or omitted cartons on your inventory will be checked , Who knows what has been added.??? and by whom? :confused: They also check for ctns listed incorrectly. IE Blanket ctns that have food in them, this gets seriously checked and can result in a $400/500 AQIS Bill. ........ :beer: mm

One more thing, is there any advice you can give with regard to what needs doing before they arrive to pack? Or do you just let them get on with it? is it your responsibility (or Crowns) to fill out the inventory for each box?

Was it a complete household move or just a few (!!) boxes?

One thing we do is ,Clear everthing out of the bathroom that you want packed. The put every thing you DON,T want packed in there and say ,don,t go in the bathroom ;) .... Crown will inventory boxes, they pack {pbr] boxes you pack [pbo] will have what ever you have written on the box, put on the invent.......so try and make sure that whats in the box ,is whats written on top AQIS get really P****d OFF if they find discrepencies, and will make your life miserable ;) ............. :beer: mm

We too used Crown to move, after being highly recommended on this site. Whilst the problems we encountered were not too bad we did have a few mishaps as follows;

1. The first problem was there was test cricket on the TV and of course they had one eye on that (turned on the TV themselves!).
2. Despite telling them what not to pack, they have packed a wicker bin load of rubbish!!! (hopefully only paper).
3. Taken clothes we were going to wear.
4. Almost forgot to pack the ironing board & TV.
5. Took my in flight bag, luckily I hadn't put in the passports.

We were there will they packed but of course let them get on with their job and trusting them, after all we were paying them as they are the professionals.

The last problem we were told it would take approx 40 days on sea and then 14 in customs, and would leave the last W/e in August. however, the container did not leave until the end of September, so we are now looking at the end of November before we get our stuff.

Apart from the above they were good !!

I used Crown from the UK too, they were very effecient, assured me that 8 weeks door to door was no problem..........

1. They overcharged my Credit Card - still not seen a Refund afetr numerous emails!! this dates back to 23rd July

2. Been in Aus since 19th August, still waiting for goods as of today (5th October), they have told us it has cleared customs and awaiting Quaranteen Clearance, but cannot indicate if it will be one week or 6 ?

3. All the chasing this side has been donw by us, they never returned phone calls aor anything like that....

4. Ship arrived Brisbane 23rd September, 8 weeks after leaving UK.... did not meet their assured 8 weeks door to door....

Other than that, and if I get my refund (maybe they sent it on the ship !!), they have been quite good.... so far

My husband and I moved to Oz 5 months ago and used Crown too, and they were fab! From start to finish we couldnt fault them, back in the UK the 2 chaps turnt up and did an exceptional job - dismantling beds, etc. Then when we got to Oz again the 2 chaps that turnt up were brill, then even helped other delivery men we had arrive, dishwasher and fridge unload. As for all the rubbish they took all of it away and anything from the other deliveries, they were great!! Well done CROWN!
