Default PR Visa Validation

Hi all

My family all have PR visas. Can my wife and I travel to Aus without our children initially, thereby validating our visas and return to the UK, then return at a later date with all of us, obviously before the initial entry date? Or do we all have to enter at the same time initially?

Thanks Finch

There was a thread posted recently about this, and i am positive it stated that everybody had to enter at the same time

Jamie

Thanks for responding. Just done a search on "validation". Pulled up some threads in May where the respected Jeremy (JAJ) responded to similar questions and answered that a PR (principle holder) CAN enter and validate without other members of his family as long as those other members validate at some time after but before the initial entry date. ie not all members of the same have to travel at the same time as long as the principle validates first.

I also saw the recent post that inferred that you couldn't do this and that is why I prompted the query.

So basically I have 2 different answers to the same question. Who's right?

At the moment I'm leaning towards Jeremy's reply

As far as I understand it, there are two components:

1. Principal applicant enters first (first by 2 minutes or 2 months - whatever)

2. Owners of ALL visas must make first entry by 'initial entry date'. (includes the
rug rats etc)

So, if you had a family of 4, with an initial entry date of 30 Jun 2003 (fr'example)
Principal applicant could enter first - next week- then come and go as they pleased
for the next year. Partner and kids could arrive for the first time 29Jun 2003. LJ
