Poured limestone
We're currently having a pool built and had a guy round for a quote. It's not a big area, possibly 50sqm max, yet the quote was $8,700. Is this normal ? Or have they added the good old B.A.T ?
Anyone got any cheaper reccomendations ? |

Anyone got any cheaper reccomendations ? Earlier on in the year I got quotes for my driveway to be done in poured limestone. Driveway 147m2 @ $52 per/m2. For paths 32m2 @ $48 per/m2 Yours would only be the Paths price at $48 per m2 That came with a choice of pattern. I decided not to get it done as I was warned by many people the drive would crack. |
Re: Poured limestone
I can give you the name of the company I dealt with if you like. They are based in Rockingham.

That would be great thanks, why were you warned that the drive would crack ?
I got told by a few people in the building industry, including a grano worker, that poured limestone isn't really suitable for a driveway, under the weight of constant driving on it it eventually cracks. I had clay pavers laid instead. I have limestone pavers around my pool, limestone is cooler on bare feet. I went for pavers around the pool incase there was ever a pipe problem, easier to lift a few pavers than to cut up poured limestone. |

Suburban Poured Limestone, I have their quote but it has no phone number or address on it, (a bit silly). I got their number out of the Rockingham local paper, I don't have one here so can't look it up for you. I do have the local link with couple of companies advertisments in if you would like those.

Thanks, I'll look them up in the yellow pages. Do you have any problems with ants or weeds in the pavers ? Is there much in the price between limestone pavers and poured limestone ?
The limestone pavers were done quite a few years ago, I can't remember how much they cost. I think the going rate for laying pavers is around $13.00 a square meter, pus materials. |
