Potentially dumb question about computer files :

Hi I was just wondering will all the links in my favourites still be there when I get to the other side? Or do I have to save em somehow

Save them to disk. Find the 'My favourites' directory on your PC and simply select them all and save to disk. I do it regularly along with my normal backups.

Now I never said it was dumb, & your quite right to ask.
I'm the one that brought the Tv set from the UK cause I thought I might still get Coronation Street on it, now thats dumb.

This was enough to discolour the plastic facia on our washing machine and microwave. Also it killed my PC! Luckilly I had backed up the entire hard drive to one of those external pocket size hard drives before I packed the PC away, and took the pocket drive in my carry on lugage on the plane. 12 weeks later when I finaly got our container stuff and found my PC fried, I replaced the busted bits one of which was the HD and used my backup to restore my files, especially email addresses and links etc. So you might want to consider it.

Will have to try that one as my bookmarks are all stored on the internet, not the actual programme.....

No. Your bookmarks are small files stored locally on your PC.

In any event only bring the PC if it's a near new top end machine, otherwise just bring the hard drive and any other "can't do without" bits and put them into a new box bought here.
