Default posting xmas pressies cost of

I have just propped myself up at the post office counter as I handed over my eftpos card. Next year England will be getting their xmas goodies by sea, so will have to start shopping now for next year-groan.
I wouldn't mind it was only just over 4kilos and cost $73.50 :scared:

We missed the sea posting by 1 day. Cost us $112 by air.

Should've sent it by sea anyway, chances are pretty good that it would still get there.

I've posted stuff surface from the UK as late as now and its reached Aus by Xmas; they just give you loads of time to cover themselves. Generally takes abiout 6 weeks.

I will be keeping a GBP bank account open in England and everyone's presents will be courtesy of the internet: Interflora / Amazon / Play.com etc so I don't have to worry about shipping anything more than a card. And even that you can send electronically these days.

I've found that the giftbasket.com type sites are fantastic as well. I've used these numerous times for my family. Especially when the 'week' I account for airmail has run out and there's only a few days till birthday/father's day or whatever.

And you can get some amazing stuff.
