Default Posting tools belongings etc

Hello.

Hoping someone can help. Will be looking to send small container/box to oz when we go( eventually). We will probably want to send about 6-8 cubic meters of stuff by boat.

First question. how much would this size of shipment cost. roughly

Second question. would this needed to be packaged by our selves or do companys supply small containers.

Third question. How long would this take to get to perth/Oz

fourth question. Do shipments get opened and checked etc,

fifth question. On arrival would they store the container untill collection and how much could storage cost.

lots of questions.Cheers

Any help greately appreciated.

Try e-mailing pss or allied pickfords (shipping companies) they would be able to give you definitive answers on your questions

Hi - WELCOME
As jjonboy has just said, wld be a good idea to get a few quotes from removal companies - there are loads out there!

Are you aware of the strict 'cleaning' process of all tools/garden equipment/shoes etc?

You are not allowed to put any 'dirty' items into a container. Mud, rust, other deposits are a 'no go' in Australia. For good reason.

If you get in touch with an international removal company (yellow pages) they will give you all the relevant info. or just log on to one of their sites and type in the relevant details.

A 20ft container via sea - average time 10-12 weeks but can be much longer.

On arrival - if you needed it to be stored - yes of course that would incur charges.

Quarentine can open/check any container/package they feel they want to, generally, one or more on a full 20ft container will be opened. They are VERY strict.

International Removal Companies will supply boxes and pack for you as long as everything is 'cleaned' that needs to be - they will refuse to pack it if it is not. They give you plenty of advice about the pros and cons - take notice and you will be fine.

If you only have a small amount of stuff to bring, you might be able to 'share' a container with someone else. I know the company we dealt with did say, they do 'fill' all containers before shipment for obvious reasons, cost etc. They had 20 and 40 cubic ft containers. Don't know about 'boxes'.

You just need to do a bit of research as your needs may be different to many others.

Take care
