This is our pool. 13.5 by 3m wide, depth 1.1 to 1.5m deep, 55000ltrs. It was here before we bought the place and was one of the reasons our kids fell in love with the house. Its concrete, salt water, solar heated (34, degrees at present) and designed by the previous owners. Built in 2002 by Kel Evans Pools Karalee Qld, costing $27,500.

Evan& Evans did our pool a couple of years back, They are in Ipswich QLD.
We found them very good, Can"t recall the price off hand, Hubbys is sleeping at the moment. I think ours was a 9x4. WE did all our own landscaping with palms.
As you can see in the fist pict, we had a downful of rain.

Re: Post your new pool pics!
So is a budget for $50K reasonable for a 12x4m?
The excavation will already be done as I will have a digger on site for the house build already.
Prefering to go the saltwater route and still have not seen a big difference between fiberglass and concrete? Any one?
What about the accessories like pool covers that kids can walk over without falling through or drowning warning systems??

Fibreglass is muchhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! easier to maintain. Get a bit of black algae on a concrete pool and you are doomed - well that's my experience anyhoo...

Day 1: Dig the hole
Day 2: Tidy up the hole and ensure the sides are vertical
Day 3: Start of framework
Day 4: Complete framework and lay conduit for electrics
Day 5: Concrete spray
then
3 weeks of rain stops work .......... pool fills with mud and water
Day 7-10: Preperation for patio, digging up lawn, flattening and levelling, putting in the pipework and electrics
Day 11-13: Building the artificial cave and waterfall
(bear in mind the build days stretch over weeks due to rain stopping play!!!!

Re: Post your new pool pics!
It's finally finished. It started on the 31st March and ended on the 30th June. The estimates were for a 3 month build and it was true - it took 3 months with a few problems thrown in.
Costs: $47,000 for the complete concrete inground pool build which includes and ornamental sit in cave with waterfall and a jacuzzi (at the step end). The pool measures 12m x 3.8 (at the shallow end which is 1.2m deep) and 5.2m at the spa end (the deep end is 1.8m deep). This price also included ~ the laying of pavers, the finish to the pool, the pool fencing, white pebbles around the outer edges to finish off the look, the rock work, LED pool lighting, spa section incl. blower pump, all the main pool pumpwork and pipework, chlorinator and general gubbins and the wiring for the electrician. (Plus - they knocked the corner of the roof during excavation denting the guttering and moving the roof tiles - extra cost to the pool builder for replacement guttering, repointing the roof - oh and a fence panel which got dented along the way).
Extras: pavers, black line tiles bottom of pool, water level tiles - $4500 from AMBER
4 Crimsafe screens for windows which open onto the pool behind the pool fencing $1800 (which also included a main door screen on the patio which is fitted with a dog flap - this is not behind the pool fencing but was a nice to have so that in the summer the dog can wander round the garden as he wants to and the screen door is security locked so that we can leave the inner door open).
Electrician - fitments of all electrics to correct voltage, installation of 6 outside powerpoints, installation of a path light $1700
Decorative Lighting - Bunnings - $150
Wood etc needed to enclose the pumps and chlorinator and store hoses, nets and assorted pool chemicals and tools $300 (built by OH)
Replacement lawns and landscaping to side of the house where the excavators chewed up the ground to complete the intial digging $1800
Front of house fencing - the house is a new build so fencing was not present at front - now that the digging etc is finished the front of the house needs two small section of fence to secure the garden and pool areas - $900
Extras - pool thermometer, Bunnings Guide to owning and caring for swimming pools, catch net (leaves and floating debris) $65
TOTAL COST = $58,215 (£28,293 or thereabouts)

Re: Post your new pool pics!
We used Dolphin Pools, they build concrete pools. Probabaly looking around $40,000 (13m x 3.5m lap pool)
Husband built water feature, laid paving & put on bullnosing so saved heaps of money.
We were very pleased with Dophin & would highly recommend them.
