post office open Easter Monday?

post office open Easter Monday?
I just got in on Saturday and have a bunch of stuff I need to do. Number 1 is get a PO Box so I can get everything else done. Is today Monday a government (postal) holiday? What about banks?

Unless you're wanting food, you'll have to wait until tomorrow. They seem to treat public holidays with the respect they deserve here

But the banks are only open for half a day at the best of times, plus takeaway food atrracts at least a 10% plus public holiday surcharge, and it's all nice and legal.

Not just food......shopping centres are open today.....OH is working and would rather not be. Only Good Friday & Easter Sunday are pretty guaranteed to be closed.
