OK, I'll start, it's Hedland not Headland. It's rough, though not as rough as South Hedland.

When I was there I went to the pub and there was a travelling boxing show, they were taking on all comers. Great entertainment.

Did you stay overnight - what was the accommodation like?

So for 1-10

10 being a 5 star hotel - 1 being outside on the ground in the rain (naked).

If it is like typical FIFO accomodation then it will be pretty good. The places I have stayed in (admittedly not in Hedland) have all been spacious, comfortable and clean. The food has always been good too.

Hi there Port Hedland camp is ok. I go over once a month in a professional capacity and its well run, clean with reasonably good food, (although you will be longing for home cooked food at the end of your stint).
Most of the FIFO camps in WA are good, remember this is Australia and if its good there is a huge outcry lol, safe travels

Hi All,
Update................

Well hubbie went up.

The accommodation is very similar to offshore - basic but clean. Port Hedland is quite a place, not what was expected but ok.

hi there, yes Port Hedland is different, great to flying to Bali from, and many people go to Karratha for their shopping and make a day out of it. FIFO in abundance, I am sure Hubby can survive it. Good luck and happy travellings to the pair of you Fabs x
