I posted this before:

but many arguments in this forum seem to ignore the imperatives of geography.

The implication in the legend being that there could be untold hordes living under the sea, but we just don't have the figures in right now.

Just goes to show what a big desert australia is.

seriously though it is staggering to look at India and some of the asian countries and to see how densely populated a large proportion of that land mass is.

And even closer to Oz have a look at Java. Indonesia has a population similiar to the USA.

it does make you wonder how much more the world population can grown. my theory is that there is going to soem massive outbreak of plague or a virus that will prune a large percentage of the worlds population. well possibly.

Chicken disease (of what ever it is in english? Vogelpest in Dutch.)

Meg, I'm curious as to which arguments you refer.
Cos I'm not sure what these maps prove or not prove?
They are interesting though, thanks!

Bird Flu I guess (seeing as we can't be trusted to spell avian properly)

Seeing as lots of viruses in years to come will be from birds (and pigs and platypuses) does that mean we'll have Bird Flu 2 the sequel and so on?
