Pommie refugees over working the System?
WA twined with Liverpool , not only has it got about the same amount of scousers , it also has the same problems?
WELFARE agencies are struggling to meet growing demand from WA's "working poor".
The pressure may force some groups to cut services.
And the WA Council of Social Services says the situation will get worse without immediate action to curb the demand.
In a written submission to the Senate Inquiry into Poverty and Financial Hardship, WACOSS said the number of working West Australians accessing welfare services had increased.
People living in rural, regional and remote areas were doubly disadvantaged because of higher living costs and reduced access to services.
Executive director Lisa Baker said that in recent decades a family living on a combined income of $25,000 a year was considered working poor.
"What we are seeing now, probably for the first time, is an encroachment into poverty for those who earn $35,000 a year and are supporting a family," she said.
Changes in the workforce, with fewer people working full-time and more working part-time or casual shifts, fed the growing figures.

And here is the clincher:
"Increasingly, over-40s who had been in jobs for most of their lives were suddenly finding themselves unemployed. "Most are still supporting families and have mortgages," he said.
Simple enough: don't have a mortgage.

IT IS alarming that for 10 years WA has had more burglaries than any other State. Thousands of householders have been left stressed and traumatised.
Why is there so little focus on this area of crime, yet there is so much emphasis, media coverage and police resources in the area of speed - Multanovas, double-demerit points and reduced speed limits?
Unfortunately, governments today do not consider corporal punishment an option for offenders. Perhaps compulsory deductions from dole payments of home burglars until their victims have been compensated for their loss may have more effect than the customary slap on the wrist.

Hindus and Buddhists had it all worked out millenia ago - the great circle of transportation. Buddha finally figured it out. Just leave a bowl out, talk strange and people put food in your bowl. End of pilfering!
