Merry Xmas - logging off now for a few days so thought I would say ta-ta to those about at the mo!

(Sorry - had a few voddy's down the pub and feeling a bit sentimental about what I am going to do without you all while at MIL from hell's!:scared: )

Merry Wotsit to you Pollster - remember to live up to thename and find something good in everything.......even in MIL! (i'm trying, but haven't managed it yet!!- so far today I have been told that champagne at weddings is a waste of money, and so are nice posh wedding invites....the day can only get better) Have another voddy.....

Have a goodun.

Pollyana

I remember your situation well. "Why not have the reception at the golf club or the RSL" were the questions. Fortunately we both got jobs and moved out within a couple of months.

I think your MIL is a lot pushier though. If she is not paying then she cannot have the input. My method was to say "I will consider it" and try not to bring up the subject again. Gritted teeth was quite common.
