Police immigrants in Oz or applying...
Hi All,
I have some friends starting out on their application. They are applying under his trade 136 Air con Mec.
The wife was a police officer in South Africa and is worried that this will affect the application as they are perceived to be 'trigger happy' ( she is now a housewife and has no intention of returning to the forces).
Has anyone been an officer in a gun carrying country and is going through or has been through the immigration process or have any advice for us please.
Any info will be greatly received.
Many thanks,
Vic's xxxxx

Can't help re the gun carrying but the wife's occupation isn't really an issue. I'm a copper and I have never heard of the South Africans being trigger happy, I've heard that they are top class police in a very dangerous country. I really don't think that her former occupation will make a blind bit of difference

Cheers for the replies all.
I hope that will put her mind at rest. It was a tough job in a tough country. They are now looking forward to moving to a similar climate to home without all that went with it.
Have a good Bank Holiday,
Vics xx
