Police checks - a phone number for you!
 

Further to my earlier thread - we applied for a police check on April 9th. After a number of calls to New Scotland Yard, I was finally given a direct phone number. The lady who answered was very helpful - she took my name and address and went off to check. she came back to me a few minutes later and said that she had printed it out, but they just process the application, pass it downstairs to the National Identification Service and then it is out of their hands (here we go again, I thought). Anyway, the next day we received our checks through the post. This seemed a bit quick - probably just a coincidence - but 2 days later we received another set. Just like the buses, you wait for 6 weeks etc....
Anyway the number is 020 7230 4143.
give them a call if youv'e been waiting ages...you never know.

THANKS for the phone number. If mine don't come in the post today i shall phone. I have already rung hampshire constabulary twice, with no help at all. now been 43 days!!
