Default police checks

Just wondered what do they show and how far back would they go.Would it show traffic offences from 15 years ago,or would it depend on the offence.

Thanks Deanno

put it down anyway is the advice. The worst that would happen is if they ask you for a character ref.

Sorry thigh jack a little here.

Are the poilce checks valid for a year meaning you need your visa issued in that time and then your visa is valid for a year after that

OR you need to have received your visa dn validated before your checks expire????

frrom what we have been told by our agent, the meds and police checks are valid for a year. Visa HAS to be validated by everyone on that visa before that year is up. After that it is then valid for 5 years, but this is for a PR Skilled visa.

Yeah hubby's got employer to arrange the ENS subclass 121 (PR visa)
Right better get sorting out soem new police checks then, was going to do it the other when soemoen said then I got told different, but the majority has it and i'd rather be safe than sorry.

OK even if we had enough time to validate it, it was way too stressful trying to get back on the plane to come home after 2 weeks and I only did it cause my babies were still here with family else hubby wouldn't have got me back on the plane. If we're going, i'm not gonna go all the way with the kids to validate for a week or 2 to just come back again to go out a while later - With littlen how he is i'd be suicidal

Thats correct, also - for the benefit of the OP, no UK offence is "spent" where migration is concerned, even if it is for other purposes - everything needs to be declared.

Technically they aren't convictions, and it depends how recent they are as to whether they appear on the police check, but I always advise people to declre them when in doubt - they are very unlikely to make a difference to the grant of the visa, but if you don't declare it, and it shows up on the police check, it may look rather dishonest as you tried to hide it.
