hi all, iam still in england going through the proccess of visa application, can anyone tell me when iam applying for police checks do i only need the ones from uk police or do i need to fill in form 1101 for federal australian police checks as well?

I think you need police checks from every country you have lived in for more than 12 months. So you would only need AFP checks if you had lived in Oz for a length of time. FWIW even if you had only lived here for a few months, I would get the checks done anyway.
