police checks
hi
sorry to ask such a stupid question but our police checks have arrived. I remember reading somewhere on the forum that you are not meant to open them as this makes them invalid. Now I did a search and sure enough that is what some people say but others say I can open them to check them. I am now confused...anyone know the correct answer? It seems to me that opening them is sensible but just want to check!
Thanks
Susan

Hi Susan,
Depends on where the check is from - I think I remember rightly that yours is a normal England/Wales one from New Scotland Yard? If so, YES, you can open it; I suggest photocopying it before you submit it too-but remember its the original, the sheet with the blue bands top and bottom, that go to DIMIA.
Good luck!!!

Re: police checks
Yep i agree with Pollyana you can open them but do photocopy it before you send it. It's mainly the medicals that need to stay sealed to be valid. Good Luck though.
