Default Police check worries

Can any one advice me.

10 years ago my husband privately purchased a bike. A month later he discovered it was stolen (he had the log book). He was all mixed up and did not know what to do, so he kept it in a lock up and did not use it.
We had not been seeing each other long and I was not aware what had happened until two years later when we were getting married and I told him he had to sell it to get some money together for the wedding. This Is what he tried to do, and banked the cheque in the log book users name.

On his police record now he has two convictions one for theft and one for fraud.

He was sentenced to 18 months probation and 100 hours community service. - No prision sentence.

Can anyone advise us whether this will have any affect on our visa application.
