Default plz recommend a reasonable family hotel in Melbourne

Hi,

We're looking for a reasonable (price and standard) hotel in Melbourne to recover from jet lag and have an explore of the city for a couple of days (8-10 Nov) before we explore the Victorian Coastline (can't wait!!!). This is our validation trip, and we have 3 boys 17,12 & 4, so we are going to need a triple & a double.

Any recommendations?

THanks

If its only for a couple of days your best bet is to have a look at www.wotif.com.au

You get a decent discount booking through them.

Hi! We stayed in Cityedge Apartments during our validation trip last June. Its a pleasant 15 minute walk to the CBD if passing thru Fitzroy Gardens. Ok enough and reasonable. Not that fancy but all the basics are in. The tram station is only walking distance away. I think their website is www.cityedge.com.au

Bordy's right with wotif. They give good reasonable discounts.
Good luck...

Cheers,
hannah

Yeah, the city Edge Motel is really good.......I use it when going down to Melbourne. There is a family room and it has a spa...room 20 I think.
Clean and tidy....pub next door called the Yorkshire Stingoes.

The missus & I stayed at the rydges place in Carlton last time I had to stay in central melbourne, it is a swanky type place but the service
was excellent. The wife's sister stayed at quest apartments next to flemington race course about 6 months ago with her 2 kids and they catered for families perfectly.

Many Thanks for your responses, I was up til the small hours researching them. Ended up with a good late deal from wotif on Paramount Apartments in the CBD.

Cheers
