Anyone had any experiences of buying larger sizes in Australia? I am a size 20 and I am finding it difficult to source any info on shops in Oz that stock or specialise in plus sizes. I am addicted to Evans in the UK! At this rate looks like I will have to stock up or get my mom to send me clothing parcels!
Any info appreciated.

There is a shop called Big City Chicks or something like that with trendy/ fashionable clothes $60 for a top

Big W also do plus sizes (primark style/quality) approx $15 for a top

Kmart and target do ranges in their clothing section approx $30 for a top but the choice is rather limited.

There is also a shop called 1626 that stocks Evans type/quality but not range about $55 for a top


I too was an evans girl, but i havent managed to find a 100 per cent suitable alternative. I say stock up before you come, especially if you can get them in the sales! I wish id asked this question before i came!

I would definately recommend to go shopping before you leave the UK!
I found shops that stock larger sizes but haven't found many styles I like. If you're a size 16+ you're expected to dress like a pensioner

I also am a ex-evans girl I also would highly reccommend you stock up as much as possible out here there do dress you like a pensioner I hate the range over here. I also would highly recomend you stock up with your underwear (bra's& knickers)
When i was visiting uk in feb this year i bought over 20 pairs of knickers and 5 bra's.

Another Evans-ite Haven't found anywhere quite the same - nothing seems to have quite the same cut a somehow so the clothes just don't hang right and don't really flatter (or cover up!) the figure, if you know what I mean.
I wait till I go back on holiday and stock up there, esp with work jackets and shirts. Eternally glad that I stockpiled jeans and other stuff from there, including bras, before I left.
And I know its been a bit of a joke on the forum in the past, but you can't beat M&S knickers

I am a big girl size 26 and i don't have any problem out here i like the clothes Rockmans do larger sizes and are quite nice and i like 1626(now called autograph) big city chic is ok and if you want somethin nice i got to Taking Shape also i like My size but have had bargains from kmart and Big W and i got a lovely dress in Target one thing i have found is that sizes are different out her in the Uk i am a 26 out here i am a 24 in most things. Jeans i have a problem with as i can't get into a 22 but a 24 always ends up being too big after a couple of hours wear. Bras and knickers are useless and i get mercy parcels from mom. It is possible to dress nice just takes time to find a style that suits.

I've just posted this on another thread but in case you don't see it......
I emailed Evans to ask about delivering to Australia as they'd just advertised on their website they were now delivering to USA. I have had this reply

" Hi Leigh,

Thank you for your query. Unfortunately we do not ship to Australia at present, but we're working on it! The final date has yet to be confirmed, but we are hoping for around September time.

I will keep your email address on file, so that when we do start delivering to Australia we can let you know.
