Default Plunging exchange rate £-A$

The pound to Aussie dollar seems to keep plummeting down which isn't great for those about to move.

Is there anything worth doing while we wait to sell our house, like contact currency exchange companies & negotiate deals ?

Thanks
SB

Hi

It's started going up a little bit today. We have to exchange within the next few days so we are watching it constantly. You could register with someone like UKforex. They will set a margin for you (a % of the interbank rate) so you know at any point what amount you will get. You can also do the deal on-line yourself when you've got the money through. If you do decide to do this, ask them what margin they are giving you. We are getting 0.3% off the interbank rate which is quite competitive I think. It obviously depends on the amount you are transferring what margin you get.
