The plumber says hi.....from Goldcoast !

;) Been here , in holiday rental ( Broadbeach , Goldcoast ) just over 2wks now , managed to track down some long term rental , 2wks in holiday let with 3 kids long enough....thank you...!

Haven`t been able to up date you all on event`s` yet due to computer not on line ( using internt cafe at present ) . Moving to a 4 bed house in Kingscliffe (NSW/QLD) boarder on saturday.

Managed too get the ball rolling on...tax file Nos , medicare, plumbers licence,s , family credit/ allowance via centerlink.......a bit like walking through mud , but no complaints....getting there !

Met up with Billabong/Earlswood & family.... had a nice day out at "wet,n ,wild.." theme park.

Brought my self just a small 4x4.hehe :D ....NISSAN PATROL 3.LTER TD,ST automatic , with $2000 extras thrown in (alloy bullbar, alloy wheels, factory fitted towbar etc......played off all the dealers , got OVER $10,000 knocked off sticker price ....so the key word is haggle like crazy..!!!

Don`t care what anyone else says....House prices are definatly dropping on the Goldcoast , we`ve looked at alot of 4 beders ( including new )$350-500,000 region, most willing to drop prices $ 20-40,000 without tomuch fuss......so don't bother looking at internet prices.

Have to go now....but soon as we`re back on line will fill you all in on the plumbers family experiences.. ;)

all the best plum

Hi Plumber

Good onya! nice to see people getting to where they want to be, is the gold coast paradise or what. We have been there twice for fact find trips 3-4 weeks at a time and the house prices started to worry us a bit,in some cases they seem to have gon up by $200,000 since late 2002, but it seems that things are setteling down by your experience. It would be nice to know where you have to go to register for Tax file no and other thing (could you send me a pm if pos as we are expecting to be there by end of jan 05)

It seems that you got a good deel on ya car well done, dont suppose you noticed how 2-3 year old Toyota Tarragas ar going for.

All the best and enjoy your new life on the gold coast and hope to see you some day, keep in touch

Well how the devil are you - was only thinking about you the other day & wondering how you were fairing.

Great to here that you are making headway in all the mud - soon you will be living the dream - but a bit more laid back after all the initial setting up.

Hope all goes well & keep us all updated

We have sold house & booked flights for 3/1 - land in Perth 6/1. Just keep looking at the pile of stuff to sort out - hopefully it will be worthwhile in teh end - how were Billabong & Earlswood getting on?

Keep in touch

Brilliant to hear from you, beautiful place, we hope to end up there one day, but it may be Vic for us first, things may change due to the new MODL though.

Anyway have you been to the Ashmore steak & seafood restaurant yet, oh my god what a place, and all that free garlic bread :D :D

Keep up the updates we all love to hear from the people who are living the dream, and I cant understand why you didn't check into "Conrad Jupiters" or the "Palazzo Versace" :D :D

Good Luck

hi there, welcome to nsw. kingscliff is highly sought after as one of the best places to live - lucky you! alan and i are 20km inland from there, along the tweed river, we go to the kingscliff bowls club every friday night with friends who live there. one actually on cudgen creek with a water frontage, fantastic place for swimming or fishing. lifestyle is what its all about here, i have completely opted out and so love the space and the green. went to sydney at the weekend and could'nt wait to get back and alan is currently in uk (for friends funeral) and is having to work for two weeks to pay for the trip - he is DESPERATE to get back, thankfully. he says since we left (a year) the traffic is worse, the streets dirtier etc. etc. i am soooo pleased as i worried he'd want to stay when he saw everyone again!
so, if you need any help locally whebn you arrive give me a shout.
