A Plumber needing help....
Hi all
I have been watching the site for a while now and trawling through old threads to gather info and have just sent my TRA App to my agent for approval before forwarding.
Me and the family have decided upon the Perth area being right for us and what I really would like to know is the definitive answer on exactly how easy/hard it is to start working as a "General Plumber", my actual work in the UK is Central heating, bathrooms, general plumbing and swimming pool heaters and pipework with 20 years experience.
Does the TRA App actually help me in giving me a head start or do I need to retrain to gain qualifications/licenses.
Are there any plumbers who post here who can provide some info on expected earnings and job openings as opinion seems split on how much demand there is for Plumbers.
Thats all for now as its late....thanks for any help
Mog

Not too sure about Perth, I'm in Melbourne and have to do a two day practical exam to get registered.
Then further exams to get a licence.
You'll also need this book

We also like to upset the mancs, on their big occasion twice denying them the championship at our ground, it promises to be an interesting game.

You will need to have at least one days assessment to gain a 'Tradesmans Licence'. Not sure how long to get 'Plumbers Licence' , or whether you have to attend TAFE. I'm planning on returning next year hopefully to get Plumbers Licence and do gas course. Be good to know fellow plumbers heading to Perth. Email me at [email protected] if you want to know anything else!
Cheers,
Dan
