Plenty of jobs here!!!
Australia faces executive skills shortage
Australia's skills shortage may be extending into executive ranks as the nation's jobless rate hits a 28-year low.
A new survey shows that a high level of executive recruitment activity continued into the end of 2004.
Demand for company executives is tracked by the recruitment firm, EL Consult.
After a 21 per cent boom in November, the EL Index for December has slipped just 7 per cent to be up 9 per cent on the year earlier.
EL Consult says there has been little evidence of the traditional holiday lull. It says the requirement for executive talent is spread across most sectors.
And EL Consult says Australia's economic expansion could eventually be hampered by a shortage of executive skills.
Yesterday, the official employment figures showed the national jobless rate dropping to 5.1 per cent in December, the lowest rate since 1976.
