Please identify this snake (currently living on our laundry door!)
I was just about to go outside to put something in the bin when I noticed this little fellow wrapped around the door handle (outside fortunately!) I thought initially it might be a slow worm but having googled I'm not sure they are found in Aus?
Any ideas? Should I be scared?

It's a Python methinks. Not venomous but could give you a good squeeze.

Probably a Python....but at the size you mention is a bit small unless it is a youngster.....if in doubt leave well alone.

Its a baby Carpet Python, totally harmless and do way more good around the home than bad. They will bite but as I say they are harmless.

Yes, that's a lovely little python, keeps the vermin down!!
Our electric went off the other day and as the trip switch is quite sensitive, husband went to the switch/fuse box just outside the laundry door, opened it to be faced with quite a large brown tree snake (took a photo to come online and identify it while it slithered away, as it was brown, had to be very cautious). Weakly venemous I believe but it didn't seem aggressive. Still. kept well back and let it be.

Thanks for all the replies everyone.
He's slithered off now. Hopefully our cats won't come across him although he was obviously a baby so don't think he would hurt them!
