We were meant to be getting picked up from Kingsford Smith Airport and staying with relatives in Sydney but they have just contacted us to let us know they can't do it now.... And we fly out tomorrow from the UK.... Yikes

Anyway, we want to book a hotel in/at Kingsford Smith Airport, Sydney so we have somewhere to stay and collect our thoughts before working out what to do next. We are booked at a hotel in CBD for a few days in the middle of the holiday but will have to work out what to do.

So, basically, what hotel is best to book into at the airport so we can go straight there when we arrive...

There are a few hotels near the airport, but they're all pretty crap and will charge a fair bit for their location. If you're 'collecting your thoughts', you'll be much better off staying in Sydney. There's a greater range of accomodation to suit various budgets.

Agreed, you'd be better off seeing if your CBD hotel can accommodate you early.

When you're knackered it really doesnt matter! The Mercure isnt bad - and it does a good breakfast.
