Please don't leave.

Hi folks,

Over the past few days, I've read several posts from people leaving this forum.

All I can say is PLEASE DON'T.

This forum has been a huge help to us and many others.

In order to retain it's value we need rational, sensible people to continue posting their questions and experiences.

We also need more individuals who have actually made the move to balance the negative but sometimes informative posts of those that live there but are desperate to come back.

Those posters who are very negative about Australia are being shot down not because of their negativity but because of the inflamatory way they put their arguments.

I've yet to see posts which can incontrovertibly condem or commend the country, so I feel we need to hear as many personal experiences as possible to gain a better informed opinion.

I'm not innocent of biting back at the idiots but I'm now going to limit my response to the anatagonists to a single post. Maybe that would stop the playground arguments. I don't know.

Anyway rant over

Please stay with it folks.

Nick

Hear Hear!

People leaving this fora are playing into the anatagonists hands, its exactly what they want to hear, that they are getting under your skin.

Please don't give in, see it as a test to your reslove in not giving in to the idiots:mad:! The fora is pointless without us all adding our opinions and thoughts, for every idiot post theres 10 good ones.

Stick in there and enjoy the adventure together;) ;)

I refuse to give in to the Whinging gits - annoying and depressing though some posts are at present, if we leave the site then they have won. Likewise, if we give up on our dreams of getting to Oz then they will also have won.
I got a lot of help from people on here when I was applying for my visa, and I'd like to stay on the site to help those following behind.

Perhaps if enough of us stick it out then the bullies, bores, and whingers will go elsewhere?

Don't let the b****rs win!!!

Totally agree! Having recently discovered the joy of the "ignore" feature I'm happy to say that "out of sight, out of mind" applies after a few days.

As many on this forum have said, honest, truthful accounts of peoples experiences - good and bad - are what this forum is about and ideally that's what we'd get on here. Unfortunately reality is somewhat different! Some people seem intent on using this forum to vent their disappointment with their own situations and generally wind up as many people as possible.

When posts become insulting/personal/offensive it does detract from the attraction and usefulness of the forum - and I must admit that I've thought about not bothering with it anymore - but there's always some bit of useful information (even from the negative people) to be had.

A thick skin, a bit of detachment and an "ignore" feature are a good antidote to the offensive negativity that some people, understandably, are getting so upset about lately.

I am relatively new to this forum, but have found it on the whole very helpful.

I try my best to ignore the bitching, find some of it entertaining and some of it down right rude and unnecessary.

My suggestion is don't bite! I have nearly but have managed not to. My reason for visiting is to gain advice and hopefully help others who aren't in Aus yet.

Keep smiling most of us have a common goal, and the ones who don't will dwindle away if we stop giving them all the attention they so desperately want.

Peace!
