Planning Engineers - Rates

Reading through a lot of the old posts this is obviously a topic that gets discussed at great lengths. However, it mainly seems to be IT folk.

Can anybody give advice on Engineers rates / salaries in Australia? I've been offered a position by a company in Perth as a Planning Engineer on an Oil & Gas project and would like to compare the deal against similar positions.

I currently work in the Oil and Gas industry in London on a contract basis and know the rates will be lower in Perth, but what should I expect?

Unlike the UK agents, the Australian ones don't seem to advertise rates (not for engineers anyway).

Any information or suggestions on useful links would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Karl.
