Hi everyone

My Mum lives in the UK, we are on the Sunshine coast QLD.

We have kinda agreed that it could be possible for us to meet half way for a holiday. They would prefer 'All Inclusive'.

Any recommendations of holiday destinations. We thought Dominican Republic?? We have both been there before.

Can anyone recommend a travel company that;s cheap. We understand that Dom Repub is not very popular from Oz.

I really want to see my Mum again, but the thought of going back to the UK is a no no +her travelling out here is too much for her.

The Dominican Republic is hardly half way...and I suspect it will cost you an arm and a leg to get there.

I'd also be looking at Thailand or Malaysia somewhere...not seen much marketing of 'All Inclusive' packages for these places but they can be cheap as anyway.

I have met my bro in Thailand a few years back.

What about LA/Vancouver. If shes not into tropical climates. Not a bad compromise on distance either.

I had to forgo my sister's wedding in Jamaica six years ago because however much I tried - getting there was not only expensive but the travel time was too prohibitive if trying to fly cheap.

We have met up with family in Las Vegas which was a hoot (direct flights from UK) depedning on time of year can be around $1600 from Sydney.

Vancouver and San Francisco are also good options as a previous poster said, flight times and direct routes easily planned.

Vietnam was good fun but we couldn't persuade family to join us - Vin Pearl resort is all inclusive we spent a couple of days there.

Hong Kong / Japan could be an option for direct flights from both countries.

In that neck of the woods Cancun is not unreachable - a 12 hr flight to LA and then a 4 hour to Cancun. You can go through Dallas as well to get there.
